Where I stayed
Takarakka Bush Resort
Again we traversed the main track of the gorge but not as far this time. Today the plan was to do the rest of the sidetracks that we ran out of time to do yesterday & were too tired to do.
There were a few complaints from the Bradley who had sore hips from yesterdays walk & we left him sitting at the trailheads & Nath & I would do the side track.
First up was Wards Canyon which was very beautiful. A small steep track wound around a waterfall to a lush tropical area of rainforest with rare King Ferns.
Brad joined us on the Amphitheatre track & it was pretty cool & needed some ladders & steps to get up into the cave. After going through a tunnel it opens into a 60 metre chamber, gouged from rock by running water. With the great acoustics we had to of course do the obligatory " Cooooooeeee" ( the Australian bush call)
Our last side track was Moss Garden which was a beautiful brilliant green carpet of ferns & mosses growing off rock walls a small waterfall & swimming hole.
Back home to relax watch the wallabies come out & graze in the late afternoon shade.
