Brad, Nath & I drove north west of Brisbane through Toowoomba, Dalby, Roma & Injune up to Carnarvon Gorge through agricultural country – cotton, wheat, corn - towing our campervan for a few days break. It is about due west of Gladstone

After about 8 hours we reached the park entrance  & drove the last 40 km on a dirt road & set up our van at Takarakka Bush Resort where we camped in a clearing. Wallabies came so close to us but unfortunately we didn't spot any platypus in the rock pools.

Carnarvon Gorge is known for its towering rock cliffs, rugged ravines & wildlife.
