A great place to stay. 3 Days was not enough to see the beauty of our Flinders Rangers and in particular the Wilpena Pound.
Visiting this area in Jan. is hot and dry but offers an amazing quietness, beautiful sunrises and sunsets and access to rugged, dry places you could not enter in the wet.
Walking and 2/4 wheel drive tracks provide amazing challenges you may wish to tackle to suit your needs. We found the 4wheel drive loop incredible, from and back to Wilpena, a 4 hour trip, very informative, full of wildlife, rough and dusty but with beautifully scenery through dried up river/creeks beds and gorges. Tested out the ranger!!
Our 4hour hike through the only pass into the pound was also amazing meeting lots of people from all over the world enjoying the beauty.
