Hi everyone, just wanted to check in...Things are going pretty well. We've had some confusion/frustration the past couple days over our classes. We were given wrong times, wrong places, wrong contact people, etc. I went for a class Monday morning and no one was there so I went to the academic office, well I guess in the last week they decided to cancel the class but they never left me know. There was a lot of information we weren't told, thank goodness we were paying attention. We have learned that things are very unorganized for international students here as far as classes go. They don't seem to be on top of things like they should. It's been very stressful, more on me I have to say haha. Today Ben and I went and met with our "advisor" (the one in the previous blog that reminded us of Mr.Mellott) well it was just another headache. We told him we each wanted to drop a class (Ben-pyschology and myself-this International Tourism class that they put me in when my other one was cancelled)...We told him we were interested in taking World History because we needed it for Lock Haven. So this is the funny part..He calls the History department but they were all booked full. He gets on the phone and he starts talking and all of a sudden says "Okay Brilliant" and he hangs up. He says to Ben and I "There's a journalism class that goes all through the 20th century and I think you just might be able to get away with it. It should transfer back to Lock Haven. It's close enough." Okay not close at all. It was the "History of Journalism through the 20th Century"..Not "World History"...Ben and  I just said "No thanks, we'll keep looking." That was the first thing we commented on when we got out of his office. It really made us laugh and shake our heads with disbelief.

So anyways we decided to go with Public Relations. We both thought that it would benefit us for the fields that we are in. The lecture was pretty boring today but the seminar part of it went pretty fast so hopefully it gets better. Other than that, our classes are going alright. I think (I hope) they are all straightened out for good.

This past weekend we didn't do much, we pretty much just hung around the flat and went shopping on Saturday. What an experience though. Shopping on Saturday in Glasgow is like Black Friday or Christmas Eve shopping for us..But this is EVERY Saturday..I can't wait to see what it is like closer to Christmas. Pretty soon they should be putting up the ice rink in George Square so I'm really excited about that. It's beautiful there.

Last night, some of us went out to the Sea Night Club. We bought tickets from this guy who lives above us. We left around 10:30 because you had to be there before 11. I was in line almost ready to get in when Ben says "Do you have your ID?"..Of course I didn't, so we had to take a taxi back, we asked him to wait at the flat, and then had him take us back. What a way to start the night. It was so neat though. Here we had access to the VIP lounge, it was so cool. Around 1am, Vanilla Ice ("Ice Ice Baby") performed..We were right up front. He was singing and he was literally standing above me. It was insane. And then "Ice Ice Baby" came on and he started pulling people up on the "stage" and next thing I know, he comes over and pulls me up to dance. I was so embarrassed. It was so funny, I couldn't stop laughing. My flatmates thought it was hilarious and now that's all I've been hearing about all day. That's definitely something I won't forget for awhile. We got home around 2 am and I had a lecture at 9am this morning, so it's been a long day.

I have volleyball tomorrow night and a game on Sunday vs. Sterling.

Ben is going on Monday to try out for the basketball team--I'm so excited for him. He thought it was the other night but here it was earlier in the evening but he went to talk to the captain today and he said to come on Monday. He's excited, I can't wait to see him play again :)

I think we've decided on a date for the wedding-September 18th, 2010. We talked about it the other night and that seemed like the best date. We'll both be out of school and it should be really pretty being fall :)

Apparently, Royal Mail is going on strike tomorrow morning because they want paid more so that means nothing will be delivered until at least Monday. Bummer. Hopefully things get straightened out soon.

Alright well I think that's all the updates for now, hope all is well with everyone. We miss you xoxo

PS Happy Birthday Judy!!! :o)
