Hi everyone,

The fact that we are writing this update, means that we have made it safe off Moreton Island. Our stay on the island was a fantastic start to our adventure. The campsite was in a beautiful location with seaviews. We saw a snake on the track, came across a long neck turtle, went snorkelling in the Blue Lagoon, had a lot of fun sliding down the dunes on the bodyboards and to top it all off we got seriously bogged with the car. All in all we had a blast.

Once off the island we headed inland and had a first stop at Jindaryan where we stayed in an authentic Wool-shed where we stayed in the shearer's quarters. It was small but cosy and a perfect opportunity to get rid of all the sand.

The next day we continued onto Miles which is miles away from anywhere. There we stayed in the Possum Park which is an old RAAF site where the bunkers have been converted to accomodation. In the evening there was a big campfire where Anouck performed a few songs accompanied by Bryan on his banjo.

Now we are about 150km away from Carnarvon Gorge. Most likely there will not be any coverage and therefore the next update will be quite a few days away.

Chat soon,

Anouck, Ruben, Isa & Bart
