Day 20-20 June
I'm still feeling quite washed out today. Im improving as the day goes on.
We came into Petersburg about 12.30ish and it was a narrow inlet so we were very close to both coastlines. I managed to get a few shots of bald eagles, 4 in one photo playing on the shore.
It's 7.30pm and we're about an hour and a half from docking at Juneau. The inlet in so calm its pristine and reflective. The mountains are snowier and crisp as they shape the sky above them. Hardly any clouds this evening. I have that surreal moment wash over me once again. I must be feeling better because i am Captured by the beauty and the calm, I'm absorbed in alaska. The wildlife I've seen are all players in our Eco system, how they operate and where they flourish to for survival and growth of their kind. Juneau appears to be a major feasting ground for bear, eagle and whales. I have my eyes peeled for any wildlife signs. A man spotted a goat high on the mountain, his eyesight was a hell of a lot better than mine, but you know I'm illegal to drive without my glasses, so no chance of me spotting a goat on a mountain!
I'm really looking forward to seeing Juneau, fora walk around and any wildlife spotting on the coastline. I arrive in Skagway tomorrow morning, so this is my last chance of daylight on the ferry, although its getting dark here at 11pm. Summer solstice tomorrow.
We arrived in Juneau about 9.30 and running about 45 minutes behind schedule. So the stop is shorter than anticipated. I noted on the highway it's 12 miles to the city centre so theres no way I can get off and go there within an hour. Bummer I really liked the sound and feel of Juneau and wanted to check it out. It's so pretty with the mountains and huge glacier in its foreground. Never mind, I settled on the bald eagles on the harbour, took photos and chatted to the two Colorado guys I had been chatting to this afternoon.

Hi Hayley, what an awesome trip, I bet the times going quick. We're all consoling Bob at the moment (England got knocked out of the European Finals).
