I've been at my fathers house in Angeles (about two hours north of Manila) for two full days now, and am settling in nicely. The jet lag hasn't been too bad and my internal clock seems to have adjusted to the time change (it's 13 hours later than Central Time). It's hot and humid here but hell, I'm from Texas so that's nothing new!

I've met Tess, my dad's wife, and their children Kyle, Kirsten, Kelsey and Keegan for the first time, which has been pretty great. We grew up seeing pictures of each other (and more recently have been friends on facebook) so we had some idea what to expect, but it's nice to just spend time with them.

For the most part we've been hanging around the house, looking at my dads old pictures, playing Texas hold em (I won two dollars, big balla), and catching up. Kyle and I went on a run this morning that nearly killed me...I blamed it on jet lag but let's be real, I'm just out of shape. We also went to a mall and watched Man of Steel. The mall looked like...a mall...and Man of Steel I recommend mostly because Superman is so damn fiiine.

Kyle and I are goin to hike to the top of Mt. Pinatubo in a couple of days - some of y'all might remember when it exploded in 1991 and was a huge disaster. My dad said it covered the area we are now in about 12 inches of volcanic dust, and it injected enough sulfur into the stratosphere that it actually cooled the earth (it actually prompted scientists to consider intentional sulfur injections as a way to prevent global warming). It's inactive now and at the top is a crater lake that you can swim in, should be cool.

Anyways I'm uploading some random pictures I've taken so far. Everything's going great and I'm excited for the rest of my time here!
