We arrived at New York(in New York Harbour).  Then we went up a (Hudson) river, thincking that it was the Northwest Passage.  Along the way, we saw beautiful sights like cliffs, giant oaks.  It was the finest for cultivation that I ever in my life set foot upon.  By September 27, it was so narrow we turned back.  It was not the passage we were looking for.  Despite that, we were invited to some feasts by the Indians.  On the other hand, many brawls and fights broke out between us and the Indians too.  By early October, we reached the mouth of the river again.  The crew pleaded me to go home.
