UK various cities - July 29th, 2007 to ?

So after lots of travelling I finally arrived in what would be my
home for an undetermined period of time.  I did like the idea of
settling into a city for a while.  However, at the same time I had
absolutely loved seeing so many different and wonderful places and
people in such a short space of time.

Upon walking out of Arrivals I was very pleasantly suprised to be
greeted by a welcoming committee.  Quite the change from having no
one to greet you.  So it was great to have some close friends and
my brother greet me at Heathrow Airport.

Well having a few contacts here in London I had a very easy ride.
I have been able to couch surf until mid December.  What an
effort.  So a big thank you to everyone who put me up.  And
Keithy House, you are a legend!

So the weather was alright upon arrival in London.  So there were
some great times spent in the parks playing Ultimate Frisbee
(undoubtedly the greatest game ever).  That certainly is a nice
aspect to London.  There are quite a few parks to hang out and
play in, which was noticeable when flying over.

Safe to say, a few beers have been consumed here.  Many good house
parties and some good nights out.  I must say of particular
highlight have been the costume parties.  Superhero Sunday at The
Church was fantastic.  I decided that I should go as the greatest
superhero of them all . .  . (Super) Australian Fastbowler, how ya
going?  Another highlight would be The Pirate Party at the
Walkie.  Being a pirate does lend itself quite nicely to getting
drunk and still being tolerated because,  hey you're a pirate!

Otherwise my dream run of not working came to an end in
September.  I did a two week run delivering sandwiches cycling
around on a pushy with a trolley attached.  Wow that was hard
work.  Then I moved on to travelling around the UK promoting stock
market and property investing seminars.  Which has been great to
learn for myself and also see a lot of the UK other than just
London.  I have been all over the place.  But so far my
favourite cities would be Edinburgh and Bristol.

Well I left Australia in search of random adventures have certainly
experienced that quite well in many places.  So I do have a few
stories to tell at the bar now.  But here is a very unexpected
one.  In London I met this wonderful Lithuanian girl whom I got on
with very well.  Skipping ahead I had a window of time whereby I
had not organised a place to stay.  So I decided to go and squat
with this girl for a while.  Yep that's right I said SQUAT!
Ha ha absolutely hilarious now.  Next time I see you just ask me
to tell you a bit more about that one.

Well now it is the end of the year.  I have finally got my own
place.  It is nice to finally be able to fully unpack my bag and
settle in and enjoy my own bed again.  Wow what a year it has
been.  Easily my most enjoyable year with so many good
memories.  I hope to be writing many more wonderful stories in my
blogs next year.  Thank you for reading some of my travel
tales.  I hope you have enjoyed the journey so far?  Take
care and enjoy til the next time!

Cheers,

Henrik
