Country #20 if I don't count Germany. I can barely count Switzerland as I merely spend a day and a half with my friend Simone in Zuerich, who I hadn’t seen in many years. All of our time is about catching up, so this entry will be short and sweet (aren’t you glad ;)).

Once again, the 'atmospheric conditions’ leave things to desire. While Toronto is about to have a ridiculous heat wave (48 degrees with the humidex: I-can-not-imagine!), I am trying to stay dry and not freeze. As a result of the triste weather, I have neither particularly brilliant photos not vibrant memories of Zuerich. Matters none though, since this stop was not about sight seeing but ‘friend seeing’.

The one thing to note that I could not get over was the cost of living. OMFG! I realize that Swiss folks make more money and pay less taxes. As a result the net net is about the same as in Germany or Canada. But still! 4.10 Franken (=$4.90) for a short bus ride or 4.50 Franken (=$5.40) for a small Starbucks coffee? That’s a regular coffee, not a latte or fancy coffee! A dinner at a restaurant equivalent to say Springrolls in Toronto (http://springrolls.ca/) is nearly three times as pricey. Gasp!

And when I was joking on my facebook status that Swiss are like Germans on steroids, I don’t think I was that far off. But who am I to try have an opinion after barely a couple of days?! That’d be silly really.

Next (and last) stop, back in Germany: Momma’s!
