We went from 14 in Yachats to 33 in Eugene in just two and a half hours. It feels so good! After a week of winter camping we can at last unzip the windows and air-out the trailer.

When I popped-down this morning there was condensation on the inside of the canvas and the trailer had really started to take on an odour that had consistency. A soup of perspiration, breath and sickness.

While in bed last night I realized that my pillow was touching the metal slider for our bed pop-out. Our foul air was condensing on the metal and soaking into my pillow. It had been doing so all week. Gross.

I woke up early this morning for one last run on the beach. As gorgeous a morning as I've seen.

Mel woke up a little earlier than normal too and she's suffering from that cold now. Sore throat and fatigue. I guess I'm next in line.

We set off for our second-to-last campsite in Eugene around 11:00am.

The drive itself was a pretty quick one. No major incidents, nothing really to report. The views of the coastline, as far as I could tell (my eyes were ever on those winding bends), were as outstanding as anyone who's ever driven them has reported.

We had our lunch at DQ, which was a significant step down from what we've been eating lately, and then entered Deerwood RV Park. Advertised as "Eugene's Luxury RV Park", it certainly makes you feel posh. And then not posh when you park your tent trailer next to a mansion on wheels towing a brand new Jaguar.

I kid you not. When your tow car is a Jaguar you've got some money to burn.

And we've got glorious wi-fi again.

We set-up, I sweated, and then everyone went for 'quiet time'. Mel is asleep, trying desperately to feel better. The storied 'Eugene Saturday Market' is tomorrow and she's been pumped for it for a while.

It's hard to believe that we're more than half done the trip. We've done 2534 km so far.

I thought I'd take a moment to record, more for us years down the road than anyone else, the set-up we're traveling with:

* 2012 Chevrolet Traverse; 6 cylinder; 5000 pound towing capacity; 500 pound tongue weight.
* 2012 Rockwood Freedom 1910; 10 foot box; 1973 pound dry weight; hot water; outdoor shower; fridge; indoor/outdoor stove and grill; cassette toilet; furnace; heated mattresses.

I have no complaints about any of it. Touch serious wood.

9:37pm

After our respective breaks we mucked about on the patch of grass by our trailer and spent a little time in the big field directly behind us.

We tried Penny in the Jolly Jumper but she seemed more interested in filling her diaper. Fair enough. She did get a nice little bath in the shade though.

The resort on the whole seems great. The bathrooms and showers here are absolutely premium. Individual rooms that are really spacious and clean. Granted there are only two but one look at the rigs in this space tells you that most people here don't shower with the masses.

They also serve a free breakfast outside directly behind us.

Ironically, we have become the rabble of the previous entry.

When all was set at the campsite we headed into Eugene and had dinner at Mezza Luna Pizzeria. Pretty good pie, I must say.

Getting out of the downtown core and back to our campsite was something of a challenge as the road layout (I wasn't driving so this isn't an excuse) is quite confusing and doesn't really make sense at times.

I'm hot and tired, probably getting sick, and not in the best of moods right now. Parenting got challenging again tonight. Details are unnecessary.

Oh, and we got little Coleman lights on a string for outside our trailer. Tacky in the best kind of way.

Tomorrow is the Saturday Market. Let's hope all goes well!

Your camp looks serene and peaceful. Thats adorable, Henry helping give Penny a bath. I hope you guys enjoyed the Saturday market and that it made Melissa feel better :) Romero is still kicking; saw him today (I know you said don't tell you if Romero goes missing; so I'm telling you when I see him, haha!) Went to my first barrel jackpot today; almost fell off. Weak leg muscles!! It was scary because Hunter is so fast. Looking forward to your next post!
