After lunch had settled, Jack took us for a walk (!!) up the hill next to the farm, with the two farm dogs in tow. when i say walk it was more of a climb! haha, it was very steep but i made it in the end!! the views were wonderful, we were only out for about 3 hours and then went to relax before the evening meal. we had a free evening and sat around a fire and did some sketches of the farm
On friday Jack took us on a 12km hike to see the white walls on Lake Baikal, where nomads had made sketchings about 500 years ago. I thought the first day's hill was steep, but it was nothing to the 4 or 5 we had to scramble up on this walk!! my leg muscles were worn out afterwards!! the views were worth it tho, as you'll be able to see on the photos. Not sure if you know anything about Lake Baikal but its the largest freshwater lake in the world, its about 640km long!!
Anyway after our 7 hour hike (which included a break for our picnic lunch!) we headed back to the farm and to a banya. The banya is a buildind with three rooms, the main two being a sauna/steam room and a wash room. Stayed in the sauna for ages cos it was so good! very relaxing!! The meal again on the friday was great, apparently we were privileged as we got to eat seal, which is something speacial there. It actually tatsted quite nice, i wasnt sure what to expect! as long as i didnt think about the cute little seal then it tasted good!! also the farmers wife made some fresh doughnuts, and she makes the most amazing jam i have ever tatsed, i ate so much of it!!!
