Went to see Wellington Lions play their last home game of the NPC (National Provincial Championship I think....) on Saturday with a couple of people from the hostel. The Lions were playing Southland - a pretty rubbish team really, but apparently they had been doing well this season, where as the Lions have loads of good players but have been a bit under par.
We thought that our seats were really good as we were only about 4 rows up from the pitch, and weren't too close to the touchline. Unfortunately most of the action took place on the other third for both halves of the match, so I couldn't get a good look at all the hunky rugby players!! It was so windy - the ground is just next to the harbour and the wind just swirls around the ground, making it a little chilly!! And I was nursing a sore head as I had been hit by a glass bottle on the way to the match, which had fallen from a second floor flat - some idiot had cleverly left it on his window ledge and it had blown out and hit me - ouch!! It's a good thing that I fell over and hit my head so much when I was younger otherwise I reckon I could have been injured badly......
Anyway, the match was good fun, even though the Lions were all over Southland; they won 53 to 12 in the end.
