Moving on. Our visa for Thailand ran out today so we headed for the bus station in the north of Bangkok to get our 6 hour journey to the Thai/Cambodian border at Poipet where we nearly got scammed by this dodgy bus company where they give you a free bus down the road then try make you pay 6x the going rate to get to the next town, but luckily we had our wits about us. First they tried charging extra for our visa - which we didnt pay! And we had no problems but you gotta feel for a pair of Korean's which followed along and paid out a lot of money! We walked away from the bus company - which they didnt like on little bit! and kept trying to follow us with cheaper prices and trying to tell other people not to take us for less! But we won in the end and paid the going rate and in a taxi! Our one night stop in Sisophon was funny to say the least! First the journey took 1hr to do a journey that in UK would take 15mins! This was due to the large amount of pot holes in the road and when i say large and alot i mean it! We stayed the night and had a wander around in the evening and came across a fair, one of the fair games was to win a 1.5 litre of fizzy pop, to do this you had to throw a washing up bowl fully over the bottle - you gotta hand it to them! Next day we checked out and went to the taxi place to get a share taxi to Siem Reap, whilst waiting we witnessed a nasty moped crash about 5 metres away - where they just picked themselves up and their bikes and walked off to resolve it down the road by fighting whilst the policeman stood and watched! with others not involved in the crash joining in the fight! After being sat in a taxi and told we were going in 10 minutes for about 1hr 30 we finally set off with 6 in the car! One being a monk so he is given the priority front passenger seat, me and 3 blokes in the back (not small ones at that). The 2hr 30 journey was on the same kind of road as the one to Sisophon - potholes! as we were going along we witness a car in the river and everyone stood around scratching their heads how to get it out! This road was a red dusty dirt track basically, only when we got within 10 miles of Siem Reap did they get better and tarmac roads!
