I'm on the job hunt at the moment, you'd think I'd just be enjoying being unemployed but it doesn't feel like a holiday 'cos the need for a job is always there, lurking round like jack the Ripper (I really want to do that tour by the way, you can walk round all the places where Jack the Ripper butchered people, gory but how cool!)
I had a great weekend, on Friday night Claire and I met John and his friend Paul after work on a river boat which is actually a bar noe, it was packed out and really fun, I would have taken a photo but I didn't want to look like a tourist:-) We had a few drinks there and then we caught a cab into Soho, which apparently is the gay area of London and is very buzzy and funky
On Saturday Claire and I went to Hyde park which is so lovely, very big but also lots to look at not just trees and grass (though there are a lot of those too). There's a lake there where people paddle boat and lots of cafes and restaurants and very beautiful gardens. There was a blue rose in one of them that smelt georgeous, Nana it reminded me of your Blue Moon rose out the front of your house.
Then we walked to Harrods so I could have a look at how the other half lives. Harrods is very elegant, and everything is perfect, perfectly displayed clothes, perfect little pyramids of the most delicious looking chocolates, and it's all very luxurious and decadent. Jay,I can see how you would've hated working there though, so many attendants were just standing there twiddling their thumbs so to speak.
Then on Saturday night we went to the movies and saw The Forty Year Old Virgin, i don't know if it's out in NZ and Australia yet but you shuld see it, so stupid but very funny
On Sunday Claire had to work so John and I drove to Waitrose and did the supermarket shopping and then we walked over to Greenwich Park and went for a walk up through the gardens (nice but not as nice as Hyde Park) and we saw a wedding there:-)
Today I had an interview with a recruitment sgency called Morgan Spencer which was good, I filled in loads of forms and took a couple of computer tests and now I'm on their books so they're looking for work for me. Then to celebrate that and the fact that my money finally came through I went and bought this pair of jeans that I've been lusting after since Saturday. They are designer and I got them for £45 reduced from £150 - bargain!
Tomorrow I've got another appointment with another agency at 11am then I'll probably hit the shops again as I'm meant to be looking for work clothes.
I hope you are all well, thanks for the emails I've got it's good to keep up on all the NZ goss:-)
Take care, lots of love,
P>S. I've put some new pics on this site so feel free to have a squizz
