After a chilly (alright, downright cold) day dockside, we were relatively rested up and definitely ready to move.  Not much to do in Galilee.  Unfortunately, Nick had to depart prematurely, so once we said our goodbyes, we got off the dock.  We were still a bit worried about the weather as the wind yesterday was definitely no joke and we did not second guess our decision to stay on the dock.  But, today, with predictions of gusts up to 30 knots instead of 50, we decided to go for it and be conservative with the amount of sails as necessary.

We got out, and it was honestly a very beautiful day.  The temperature wasn't nearly as brutal; in fact, we even enjoyed some sunshine.  We managed to get out, set the jib, and shut down the engine pretty quickly.  Shortly thereafter, we set the main, and we were crankin'.  Pete had been in touch with Seth Chapman pretty consistently since our departure, but a rough first day and then a weather delay had set us back.  We were pretty motivated to visit him today - and our average speed of 6.5 knots made it quite possible. Other than being pretty well heeled over, it was quite the enjoyable day of sailing.  We made it into Essex around 3pm, and were soon greeted by Seth.  He treated us to an amazing dinner out, access to a washer and dryer (helpful for those socks that just won't dry), and even a quick shower.

Enjoying good company and hoping the weather won't hold us up again tomorrow.  Having a bit of sunshine today has us all very motivated to find more of it - getting south in a timely manner would be favorable.

Thanks for keeping up with us. We love hearing the comments.

Nick had to depart because he was neglecting his family, leaving them without heat for the house.  They just don't make men like they used to.  Miss you dude.  It was a awful nice day.   Wicked nice slip for the night.  Weather is promising for tomorrow.  Thanks Seth for the hospitality, see you this winter in the warm.
