Welcome to the city of Caberete, one of the 10th best beaches for wind surfing.. not too bad for kite surfing either...
We said farewell to Crossroads Friday morning... back everything in the huge safari open air bus and trecked it over to Cabrete (about 45 minute drive). We met our ISV tour guides, Zach and McKayla and commenced a 2-hour orientation about the doīs and donīts of the trip.
It was very ackward to have this huge orientation meeting about all the fun we will be having and all this stuff when we had just said good-bye to our new Dominican and Haitian friends. The tourist areas are completely different worlds...
So far, I think there are WAY too many white people here. TOO many! Hanging around darker skinned people have made me appreciate the dark pigment and wish that the Dominican landscape here had less white freckles. I donīt know..
We are settled into Windsurf hotel yesterday and the rooms are furnished with kitchenettes... saving money HORRAY!
Today we learned how to surf.. I was actually very successful and I road a handfull of waves all the way into shore. Bien! This afternnon, weīre lounging around, going out for pizza tonight (finally, not rice and beans and chicken!) and dancing on the beach. Donīt worry, itīs all good. Happy weekend!
