At 6:00 this morning, the bells were ringing waking us after a stormy Austrian night. The lightning and thunder last night was actually amazing when the light shone across the mountains. We lazily drifted in and out of sleep for awhile this morning then finally woke to get going on our final day in Austria. It was a cloudy morning with light rain on and off in the afternoon. We got in the car for a little road trip through the mountains to find the Krimml Wasserfaille, which is reported to be one of the largest in the world.

At the falls, it was a long hike up a steep and winding trail following the waterfall up the mountain. We stopped along the way at the viewing areas many of which were in areas that sprayed cold water at us from the powerful falls crashing down. The children didn't mind so much but I stayed clear of the mist when possible. Near the top of the falls, we rested for a snack and to peek around the souvenir shops. Then we made the hike back down the mountain. After a hot cocoa, we find our car for our drive back home.

In Kaprun, we drive up to the Kaprun Burg (castle) and check out the exterior. Next to it, we think there is a bee house. Then, we picked up our laundry for the week from the cleaning service (all washed, dried and folded!) and set out to begin packing for our departure tomorrow morning for Slovenia. Afterwards we head to a nearby restaurant to enjoy some pizza and pasta with some white wine. Then home for relaxing before our last bedtime in Austria.
