Went by car to Baldwin Street which holds Guinness book of records for the steepest street in the world. 350 metres long rising from 30 metres to 100 metres, an average slope 1:5 or 35%. Dave drove the car up the street to the top much to Laura's dislike. Laura walked down and Dave drove down then walked to meet Laura half way up.
We then went to town to window shop and go to information centre. We took a guided bus tour of the city which was very informative. We went to signal hill which had great views over the city and bay. We then had lunch and took a guided walking tour of the city. We looked at some of the oldest buildings in New Zealand financed by the gold rush. We saw the old original prison now closed and railway station now used by various companies including a sports museum showcasing 100 years of sporting achievements. The tour finished off at a Scottish bar with a shot of single malt whisky and small dish of haggis. Had an Italian meal in the evening and returned home to motel after 10 hours of exploration.
