Do you really need to go to a ski resort to learn how to ski?

Think again? Here at Brampton, there's this hill which is a mini ski resort. Here one can go snowboarding, skiing and ice tubing. All for a minimal fee. And yes, they do have rentals and lessons for the beginners.

Well, for an islander like me, several factors have to be taken into consideration before going to ski.....because this would entail costs..... airfare, plus the hassles from TSA/airport, equipments, weather, desire to learn and moral supports.

Brampton is just like a backyard hill where you can do toboganing but it has a lift, yes, a lift like that one in a real resort, but no gondolas, just stand....

I had my ski lesson for an hour for 39.50 all inclusive plus an hour more for self learning/practice. Bottomline is,after several falls and perseverance, I did learn how to ski at -12 degrees centigrade and I was still sweating inside my get up.

From now on, there something for me to look forward to during wintertime. Westjet Airlines keep on flying.
