Tara is home to Heather's 2nd eldest sister who runs the Post Office, obviously we were co-opted into mail sorting, but were not very good at it!
Other than visiting family the other highlight of Tara was the "roo box". This is a chiller unit set up out of town where roo shooters bring in the nights shoot to be tallied. We went out at 6am where the chiller operator (who wore his silk PJ's) worked. We were fortunate enough? to watch several kills weighed in. The kill often also includes wild pig.

Note: for OS readers roo is short for Kangaroo!
