Where I stayed
Spent four lazy days in Denham, in our own two bedroom self-contained apartment.
Denham is a chilled out little town, with everything that you need along a little sand beach.
The hostel runs a free shuttle bus to Monkey Mia 25km away where the "wild" dolphins come to be fed, up to three times, every day at the shore. We arrived at 8.30am spot on the first feed. They came back at 9am and Marc got to feed a dolphin he believes is called Nicky. At 10am they came back again for their final feed and Heather was chosen to feed Piccollo (who refused to eat even when Heather was waggling the fish as if it was alive).
We then had until 4.30 to kill until the bus came to collect us. That is a long time to spend in Monkey Mia on an overcast day (the first clouds since Alice Springs!!).
We also spent a day at the Denham intepretive centre, learning about the Shark Bay area and why it is 4 times world heritage listed... rivetting!
