On my way from Kilkenny to County Cork, I stopped off in Cashel to visit the Rock of Cashel.
The site is extraordinary, and high on the list of Ireland's must-see, historical landmarks.
I stayed the night in Cobh, which is a cute little port-town or cove in County Cork and continued on to Kinsale in the morning for a great tour (including the eerie legend of "The White Lady") of Fort Charles.
After the Fort Charles tour, I headed west to Dingle, but 1st stopped to see the Druid stone circle in Cork.
