I always thought the Chicago fire of 1871 was a disaster, but it was actually the catalyst for transforming Chicago into a center for architechtural innovation. In the spirit of Rahm Emanuel (President Obama's chief of staff) "Never let a crisis go to waste", the city of Chicago reinvented itself as a center of design. We took the Chicago River Architectural Tour and then soared to the top of the Sears (oops!) Willis Tower Skydeck to see it all from 103 floors up.
