Saturday 1st September
5 miles
7 locks
1 tunnel (almost a mile long)

Well, we made it. It's good to be back. We were talking about the coming winter period for us. At the moment it has no shape, no structure. We can't really envisage it. We have a new grandchild due in just over a weeks time and we anticipate a lot of time will be taken up with the family in the coming weeks. We have 2 weddings to work around before Christmas and we will be trying to catch up with friends who live around the country. It seems very strange at the moment but I'm sure we will settle down quickly to a change of momentum.

Some boring statistics for those of you who like them. In the last 5 months we have travelled 598 miles and worked through 406 locks and been on 15 canals and visited 21 different churches (and that was going in slow mode).
