Tuesday 12th Lyme Green
3 miles

I shall remember today as the time I heard the bagpipes being played alongside the canal and the day I found a lost teddy and the day that John and Mo passed us in Josephine. Such exciting lives we lead. We moored early afternoon in yet another beautiful spot and discovered a business park just minutes away along a short path from the canal. Bryan popped in to Homebase and managed to buy a few of the screws/bolts that we need for the mushrooms on the roof. We managed to have a go at a second mushroom that is leaking. Hopefully they will both prove to be watertight when the next rain falls.

Wednesday 13th Lyme Green
We did plan to go to Gurnett today as it is a place we wanted to stay when we were last here a couple of years ago. Lots of boats went past us this morning, heading that way and Gurnett is a popular place to moor so we took a walk along there as it's barely a mile further on, to check it out. There were a number of boats moored already and there were a couple of spaces but we decided that we preferred Lyme Green so we didn't actually move after all. We are booked into a marina tomorrow in Macclesfield so it seemed to make sense to stay put.

We have had some rain today and both mushrooms appeared to be watertight. Hurrah!

Thursday 14th
2 miles
Set off for Swettenham boat yard this morning. When we arrived we couldn't see an obvious visitor mooring where we could stop and ask where we were to berth but we did see an empty pontoon so pulled into it. The man in charge when he was passing to help someone else out said, you seem to be OK there. So, here we are. Very laid back here it seems. We secured the boat and plugged her into the mains then went into town for a bit of shopping. Bryan called in at the station and collected his pre paid tickets for Scotland tomorrow. I found a workshop jewellers and found out that they could mend my necklace chain while I waited. I didn't have it with me but took it back after lunch. Booked myself in at a hairdressers tomorrow for a cut and went off looking for more countersunk bolts that we may need soon. The shop I tried didn't have any but told me where I could probably get them and told me how to get there. Needless to say, I couldn't find the shop but did ask a man who I thought might know and sure enough, he did and he gave me further directions. I've seen bits of Macclesfield I didn't know existed. Picked some elderflower on the way back but will need some more to make next batch of cordial. Will pop out and search for more, once I've had a cuppa and have rested my feet. Macclesfield is very hilly.
