Went to a great market in Mysore this morning called Devaraja Market which apparently has been running for 150 years.
You could buy anything you wanted and I think even if they didn't have it they'd probably find it for you! The colours of the fruit, vegetables and flowers were so vibrant, I loved it and took lots of pics!
En route to the market some of us stopped at a local bakery which made some delicious pastries and biscuits. Sadly I didn't take any photos of my purchases as I scoffed them pretty quickly! I can assure you they were really good though!
On my way back from the market I found another little gem of a place selling samosas and they were soooo good. They came with some kind of yummy chutney - again no pics cos I quaffed it pretty fast!
Stopped by a random bangle shop on my way back to the hotel and ended up buying some even cheaper ones than yesterday, I can't resist these bargain prices! Wanted to find out about posting them home rather than lugging them around for the next few months but after a random detour with the shop owner to the post office where the service was absolutely shocking, I decided posting them from Mumbai or Delhi might be best!
We've now left Mysore and on a train to Bangalore where we stop for a few hours to have dinner ahead of our overnight train ride to Hampi. Time to break out the book and iPod!
