After travelling from Koh Samui by songtheaw (on the back of a ute thing), ferry, 2 busses, songtheaw and longboat, we got to Ton Sai beach. Tonsai was a beautiful little beach, only accessable by boat as it was surrounded by cliffs. Our hotel was off the beach, up in the jungle. Our nice little bungalows were off the ground on stilts, with balconys that looked out to monkeys swinging in the trees..
On Sunday (23rd) we had a huge breakfast and while most of the tour went snorkling Fran, Bec, Jack and i hired two double Kayaks and went for a little paddle. The little paddle went down the coast, through caves and ended up taking us on an hour and half paddle out to a nearby island we could see. Poda Island was beautiful.. we had a little swim, some lunch and looked around the island a little. It started raining and we were a little exhausted so we decided to take a longboat back, kayaks and all.
For dinner we all went out to a nice candle lit restaurant then onto a cute little reggae bar. The Thai bartenders could have been Jamacian, just by the way they talked. We had a couple of Singa Beers and watched the locals twirl fire sticks, it was quite a fun evening..
In the morning we left Tonsai Beach and headed for Phang Nga Bay...
