HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

I have decided to spend mine on a bus travelling for 6 hours and then on a ferry haha. It's my choice and I'm sure it will be cheaper. Mind you this place will certainly have a massive New Years celebration. You should see the x2 music stages and stalls, it's like Glastonbury again. I'm pleased to say though I have managed to see it all already so thankfully I avoid this evenings bustling crowds and bikes ;-D.

Right I am signing off now I must go go go xx

I can now officially say Happy New Year!!

I am currently sat on a bus cruising along the motorway to Rach Gia. I am slightly concerned though that we are going to flip in the air or something. The bus bounces ridiculously high over the road bumps and it keeps startling my body. Also the music compilation keeps throwing me. One minute they are playing Boney M the rivers of babylon and Abba etc and then it switches to some really loud intense Vietnamese music.. Plus people are trying to sleep so I am sure that isn't going down too well. It’s ok for me, I can never sleep travelling but at least I can write here. Actually it’s a very good thing I have my laptop as I don’t have a light and I would have been just sat in the dark all alone ;-0 ohhh

So far today has been a fun one.  I was up at an early hour and down stairs settling my bill in order to avoid delays later this evening. It all went swimmingly and I left my luggage with the Hotel as I went to the New Years entertainment.

I walked around and watched live acts again, tried food that I can’t really say I’d heard of and then I saw a KFC. No Comment! It was the tea that attracted me and of course the air con so I popped in to treat myself. Ok I’m ashamed to say it smelt that tasty I thought I would attempt one of their mini meal deals. I was very glad to as well. No wonder this county is screaming good health. I ordered a fillet o fish that was in a soft pancake and instead of being served with chips you had a little bowl of fresh cooked vegetables in soup. How amazing is that. So I didn’t feel that guilty after all.

The walk back was lovely. I took a more scenic route but sadly my poor camera passed out again so I only got a few pictures. Then time was getting precious as I had to be ready and waiting for my bus at 9pm so I went straight for a curry at the Saigon Hotel and literally ran back.

Thankfully I made it back in time and got myself to the bus stop for my transfer. Ready for this… 15mins later a Moped arrived. Yes a Moped!!!!! That was my bus. I had no choice but to get on as I had to be at the main bus station asap. Picture a massive fat backpack on the driver’s lap, my wheeled suitcase balancing on my left knee and my ruck sack over my right arm.. I don’t know how we did it but we did haha. And an irate car driver drove into my driver’s knee. Well the journey was only 15mins long ;-0 and we got there fine.

A mini bus was there ready and waiting to take us to yet another bus station, for the next bus which is what I am on now typing this. I have met a couple of nice Vietnamese boys as well. They are not together just spoke to them separately waiting for transfers. One called himself Peter Pan as he had a really difficult name to pronounce and was small and the other boy was called Neyo? I think.

Both were really helpful and were sweet boys. I was sat next to Neyo for the 7 hour bus journey and his broken English kept me amused. Mind you I made myself look stupid too. When the bus usher called around announcing some news, I obviously didn’t have a clue what it was, Neyo said something that I heard as "Jackie Chan". I looked at the bus usher and laughed out loud saying haha, yes he does look like him but Neyo looked confused. I later realised he was saying "Traffic Jam" ;-0 ekk.

Ok i will be sure to update again later once I have enjoyed the dark scenic journey ;-)

It’s now 5am New Years day and we have reached the Ferry terminal in Rach Gia. The ferry is called the Superdong and there are quite a few people waiting to go on. It’s a hydrofoil so it will only take 2 hours. So here goes let’s get on this thing. Byes byes..x
