sorry about my last very short entry. I didn't realise that i posted it. i started writing it and then didn't really have time so thought i deleted it. well i am having a great time in Japan. I am trying really hard to learn some of the language but it is really difficult. i have learnt a few words so that is helping me a little i am so lucky to be staying with Rena, she is helping me out a lot and i am learning a lot from her. we have been having some amazing food. Rena and her mum are both very good cooks so again i am very lucky girl. i love the japanese food it is really good. i have been trying lots of new things. A very traditional dish is called Nabe, it is really good. kind of like a big soup. it is cooked in a big dish with lots of veg and meat or fish and it is kept headed on a small gas stove in the middle of the table and everyone just helps themselves. its very yummy or "oishii" as they say in japan!!
we have been to Nagoya which is the closest city to here. Rena lives more in the countryside, its really pretty area. Nagoya has a really nice castle that we went to see two days ago. we have been shopping and i am trying not to spend to much money as this is only the 1st country!!!! last week we went to kyoto, wow kyoto was just amazing. really, really beautiful. we only went for that day so think there is still lots to see there but we saw a lot in one day. we went to see two temples. they were both beautiful. one of them was high up and it felt like you was in another world, so peaceful and calm.
going to the toilet here is a totally new experience, if you go to a public toilet they are mainly old japanese style where they are build in the floor so very difficult. but if you use western style which are in most new places or homes they all have headed seats and some are all automatic. the seat goes up when you walk up to it and flushes when you are done and even makes noise while you go, very funny.
Anyway have lots of other thongs to tell you but have to go soon as Rena teaches english class today and i am going with her so have a good day everyone and hope you are all well.....
