Route 20 west is really beautiful, we traveled through Wine country, vineyards everywhere, small towns that look like they should be on a postcard at the local country store. 60 plus miles per hour between each one, and down to 35 mph through town. Got old really fast.
After some wrong turns, we moved on to route 90 and made up some time.. found a wallmart and Dan talked us into getting some compression bags. Dan's ex-marine came through and now John and I are packed like we could make a helo drop behind enemy lines...thanks Dan!.
So far the only casualty was John's helmet..it got wet, and he blew dry it with a hairdryer in the hotel room and destroyed it, the liner was coming apart and leaving a dust trail thorough New York
Stopped at a Bob Evans and repacked our gear...after what seemed like an hour we were back on the road
Blasted through Cleveland, it's a huge city, we were planning on doing the rock hall of fame , but decided against it do to our time schedule, maybe hit it on the return trip. saw lots of wind farms on the way out, and managed a shot in Cleveland, they're huge!
Found a Best Western just outside of Elyria Ohio to spend the nite. Not a good place to be, the locals are "colorful" and it was really dicey at the local package store, got some Goose for Dan, and some Jack, for John and I...figured it was the rite thing to drink, we're in the city of Rock and Roll baby! Had to pry a sock away from Dan....note to self..don't leave your socks on the floor. After commenting on John's permanent sweater, asked him if it comes in a Vee neck. We're drinking and writing this blog...I hope you all enjoy it, we're having a great time! Terri, I miss you hun. And Happy 18th birthday Liz, your dad sends his love.
