Day 191 Thurs 18th May 2006
We finally reach the tranquillity of Bhagsu Nag

Soma and Gagan were up at 6am this morning, and that didn't leave me with much of a choice either. I reluctantly got up and we were ready to leave by 7.15am. I rode Kaka's bike and Soma rode the Bullet with Gagan on the back. Gagan had frightened Soma with his driving yesterday, so Soma said he would take over the bullet and show Gagan how it's supposed to be done! We rode along the road to Dharamsala for about an hour before stopping for breakfast. We had decided to take it easy and stop along the way, it was a very scenic route and the traffic was almost non-existent. We reached Dharamsala by 9am and without stopping made up the steep accent to Mcload Ganj, and then onto Bhagsu Nag.

We reached here at10am, it's a very small village and it didn't take long to find somewhere to stay, we took the first room we looked at. It's nice, new, clean and only RS400. We dropped our bags in the room, Soma and I went for a wonder while Gagan stayed in the room. There are a lot more shops and hotels around then when I was here 8 years ago but it still has that magic about it, it's a nice, small and out of the way kind of place. I really like it here and if we didn't have to get back, I would probably have stayed a couple of day's more (same old story!).

After a walk around we went back to the room. Soma went out to go for a swim in the outdoor pool by our hotel and I put my head down for half-an-hour or so. Gagan is being a bit of a wet blouse, he doesn't want to go out or do anything, I kind of wish he had gone home with Kaka yesterday. At around 11.30am, Soma called me and told me he was by the waterfall and told me to come up there. Again Gagan said he didn't want to come so I made my way up there, it was only a 20-minute walk up one of the mountains near our hotel. The last time I was here there was a lot more water in the waterfall and there was actually water in the pool underneath it. Having made the trek up there it was a bit of an anti climax, but still it was nice and quiet up there. Soma and I made a trek further up the mountainside to a little café that was at the top of the waterfall. We chilled there for a bit and then made our way back to the hotel. It started clouding over while we were up there, and no sooner had we got back then it started to rain. It would seem the rain is following us around.

We went out for lunch to a nearby café and then retreated to the hotel again to escape the rain. It rained most of the afternoon, so we had no choice but to stay in, it's a shame but that's just the way it goes I guess. I took the opportunity to get into an Internet café and update my site. The rain didn't stop until around 6pm, we went out for another wonder and they had a live outdoor music and dance show on near our hotel. We stopped to watch it for a while, but the rain had made the temperature drop dramatically and the cold got the better of us, so we went to a nearby restaurant and had the most delicious food. They made these chilly chips that were out of this world and pizza that followed was also awesome. It's been nice to have a break from Roti over the last few days.

We got back to the hotel room around 9.30pm, Soma and Gagan have been keeping them selves entertained by chatting to some Punjabi's in our hotel whilst I have been catching up with travelogues. We are planning to make a move back to Pind tomorrow morning, I really don't fancy another early start so I think we'll move out around 10am, weather permitting of course. It's been a nice couple of day's but with hindsight we could have done with some more time (same old story!) and selected our companions a little more wisely.
