Day 187 Sun 14th May 2006
Getting ready for the Himachal mission!

I was up at nine this morning, again woken up by the arrival of Gagan. He brought some food over for breakfast, Soma made tea and we all ate together. I still had to put the cupboard back together after yesterday's goings on, so I got onto it straight away. I went to Nakodar with Gagan to pick up the picture of my Graandma, it was done, but the guy still wasn't there (how does he make a living?), he left the picture with the shop next door. It was done but it didn't turn out as good as I was hoping it would. I had put some credit on my phone yesterday but it hadn't come through so I went back to the shop and it was closed for the day, I ended up putting another 50 RS on from somewhere else just to tide me over. On our way back we went to the tile shop, the guy said our tiles had been ordered but wouldn't arrive till Friday. While we were there, I got some more medication for my eye, although the swelling has gone down the skin around my eyelids has gone all dry and nasty, my right eye looks about 50 years old, a great was source of amusement for Gagan (see pic).

When we got back I gave the bike a final once over before our adventure to Himachal, I have done as much as I can so the rest is up to the big man upstairs. I gave it thorough clean too (see pic). The Satalite is broken again, it only lasted one night, I called the guy again and gave him a right earful. My Thai came back in the afternoon so we had lunch and dinner at home. Gagan had Harry Potter 4 in Hindi, so we watched that in the evening, I had to keep playing it over to figure out what they were saying, it was quite funny.

We are going on our tour of Himachal tomorrow, it going to be Soma, Gagan, Kaka and of course me. Kaka was on about leaving this evening but I soon put him right on that one, the Larry. Soma and Kaka are both Larries of the highest order, so they will be on one bike while Gagan and I will be on the other one. We are going to leave at 4am and head towards our first stop, Anandpur Sahib, the birthplace of Sikhism. After that we intend to head into the mountains towards the Naina Devi Hindu Mandir, before moving onto the Manikaran Sikh Gurdawara. That's as far as we have planned, I think one day at a time is enough! We should be out for around 5 days, but we'll see what happens...I am soooo looking forward to this, I don't think I'll be able to sleep tonight...
