Day 113 Wed 1st March 2006
My first dorm room and another night out!

After last night, things were moving pretty slow today. I crawled out of bed around 11am and after breakfast went about moving my stuff to the dorm downstairs. This is the first time I have stayed in a dorm on my RWT, I didn't really feel safe enough anywhere else but the place seems safe and the people are nice here. I just chilled out most of the day, taking advantage of staying in a nice place I guess. There are 6 beds in the dorm and I got a top bunk, not my preferred choice but beggars can't be choosers. I managed to log onto a FREE wireless Internet connection and uploaded most of the stuff from Sri Lanka to my site. I also got onto to Skype and rang home. This free internet thing is great! I can see me abusing this over the coming weeks!

In the evening plans were emerging for another night out, I had a great time last night and more of that was fine by me! The Scottish girls had had enough last night, Alanna was having words with the toilet this morning, so she wasn't up for another night out and the others girls followed suit. The victims tonight were Hunter, Linda, myself, Justin, Andy, Tom (three guys from the UK) and of course the ring-leader, Non. We made our way down to Patpong but this time we went to a different bar first (Not Radio City), they also had a live band here, they were singing more R&B tracks and the singers were really good. We all got a round of drinks in and sat down to listen to the band. I don't know if it was actually Hunter's birthday, but we told the singer it was, and she got everyone to sing Happy Birthday for him. We had a good laugh there, the best thing was Hunter volunteered to sing a song! I didn't think he would do it but he got up and sung 'Holler Back Girl', it was really funny because he only knew the chorus. Hunter is one funny guy, he is in Thailand for a year and is going to teach Math at a school in the north. He has learned how to speak Thai, and seems very determined to make plans work (good luck mate, I'm you will do really well). We moved on to Radio City next and then onto Music café. It was another really good night out! Linda and I were running things on the podium, we spent the best part of the night up there showing the rest of the punters how to party!!! The boys from England were pretty quiet most of the night and one of them even left early. Tom was having a good time and Andy was keeping Non busy, but Justin just went back to the hostel around midnight. We were all hungry by the time we fell out of Music café, there was no Kebab House in sight, so we headed for Mac's. It was a bit of a mission trying to get a cab back but we eventually got back to Madras at some point after 2.30am, I think. Another great night, looking forward to getting back out there, but Non really needs to sort her life out, girl can't hold her drink down and her hands wonder in all the wrong directions!
