Day 94 Fri 10th Feb 2006
Yet another nearly last day in Jalandhar!!!
I woke up early this morning, well early in Basti timing anyway. I was ready to leave the house by 9am as Vinodh was supposed to pick me up around then, he eventually turned up at 9.45, and by the time we got into the office it was 10am (so much for an early start). I borrowed the bike again and made my way over to the Sherwani guy, this time it was ready (yeah!) and he was so proud of it he had put it on display outside the shop(see pic), what a larry. I took the Sherwani to the shop in the bazaar where they are making the Cortey, I am sending it back to the UK with them (and a few of my things too). We finalised my bill and the address details for the parcel. I still have to buy some Mojey (shoes) and settle the balance of the bill so I will have to go back tomorrow. I got back to Gauthams for around midday, logged onto the net to book accommodation for Sri Lanka and find out more about the place. I didn't realise how big it was, and from the websites I looked at, I don't think my 4 days stay is going to be long enough. I'll just have to see how it goes I guess. I tried to get tickets yesterday for Shtabdi to take us to Delhi on Sunday but they were fully booked, when I mentioned this to Arun he said he would sort them out for me, so that's one less thing to worry about. I got back to Nakodar for just after 2pm, Soma came to pick me up and on the way home we brought the Mojey I need to send back to the UK. When I was in Jaisalmer, Ursula had told me to buy (or make) a sleeping sheet, this was basically a sleeping bag made of one single sheet of cotton or silk, I thought it was a good idea and brought some cotton fabric (cheaper-Indian!) from Nakodar to get one made (cheaper-Indian!). I gave it to the tailor in Pind and he said it would be ready for tomorrow.

We had to come to Rurka today for yet another Path, this one was for Kenty's family. After getting back from Nakodar and taking my fabric to the tailor, we had just enough time for a cup of tea before heading off to Rurka, we were going to come by bus but then at the last minute decided to bring the Bullet instead. Like I said yesterday the weather is much nicer now and although I was feeling tired I rode the bike and Larry (Soma) sat at the back (oh and by the way he is the official Larry from now on, all other larries will be measured against his standard). We got to Rurka at 5.30pm, the path is going to last three days and starts tomorrow, we just chilled for most of the evening and I caught up with more travelogues. I was going to upload some today but as usual time was against me, I should have taken advantage of the internet at the office because the speed is faster than anywhere else and I don't know when I'll have the chance again.
