Sunrise in a foggy and smoggy Punjab.
The bus stopped somewhere at 8.30 last night (I think it was before Bikenar), we all got off to eat but before you knew it the bus driver was beeping the horn telling everyone to get back on! Then I tried to get some sleep till 5.15am when we got off at Ganagnagar, it's all good and well calling it a sleeper bus but you can't actually get any sleep. I walked the short distance to the bus stand and tried to get a ticket for the bus back to Nakodar, it had left just 15 minutes before I got there so I got a ticket for Moga instead. Just being in the bus stand surrounded by Punjabi's made me realise my adventure in Rajastan was over. And getting on the Punjab-roadways but confirmed the fact!
The bus left Ganganagar at 5.50am and was due to arrive in Moga at 10.30am, as soon as we got out of Ganganagar we entered the Punjab, here the bus was stopped by armed police and searched, this was not a nice welcome but if it's got to be done, then it's got to be done. The sun came up at 7.30, it was not as clear as the previous days but I was in the Punjab and the combination of fog and smog rarely leave the opportunity for a clear sunrise (see pic). The bus got into Moga on time and managed to get a bus for Nakodar straight away, this got me into Nakodar for 11.45am, I was pretty hungry by this point. The bus to Pind was nowhere to be seen so I asked Soma to pick me up, while I waited for him I had something to eat. I came home, dropped my bags and was looking forward to a nice hot shower before heading out again to Jalandhar but there was nor electric, and there was no water in the tank, yeah welcome back to Punjab! I was in the middle of having my comfort cup of tea when the bus beeped its horn, I had to leave the tea and jumped on the bus with Soma.
After spending 20 hours on buses trying to get home the last thing I needed was another bus journey, but I needed to go to Jalandhar to sort out the Sherwani I'm having made for my brothers mate. The embroidery has been done and it has come out really nice, it's a good thing I told them to let me see it before sewing it all together because I needed to make some final adjustments/improvements to the embroidery design. I hope he likes it, and even if he doesn't I'll keep it for myself! We got back from Jalandhar around 6pm, I have spoke to everyone at home today, I thought it best to let them all know I'm still alive and well. I feel really tired now and am not looking forward to the next few days because I know they are going to be hectic! I have just had a phone call from Gautham telling me I must get to Jalandhar first thing in the morning to sort something out for my dad.
