Christmas in India... well where do I start? I felt really sorry for the girls today, it's the first Christmas we have spent together where we didn't have all the usual stuff like presents, cards old films on tele and turkey. It makes you think when you take all that away what is it all about? It's about celebrating the birth of baby Jesus I know but what do all the presents and trimmings have to do with that! When it comes down to it, I guess it's about spending time with your loved ones and that's what we did today, two of the most precious people in my life were right here with me and that made up for all the ones that were not. As for the day itself we started out late AGAIN, it was around midday when we left. We recorded a Christmas message to post on the site this morning and I was really looking forward to getting into Webworld (the ONLY high speed internet café in Punjab) so I could update the site and the girls could have a video-convo with everyone back home on MSN
. I've been on so many times and Simran always asks where I am and what its like here, well today they found out (kind of!) I had sent a txt home to tell them to be on with the web cam ready, when we got there Priya was on but she said their cam was not rigged up so they could not have a video-convo (the curse of the MAC, yeah Apple Mac!), what a let down! Simran had a chat with them and I updated the site then we got out of there and set about trying to find somewhere to have our 'Christmas dinner', Bhabi said the last time she was here for Christmas they went to Pritvi's Planet and they had a Santa there, as soon as the girls heard the word Santa that was it! For them SANTA is Christmas so off we went, another let down here. There was no Santa there, but they had a tree so we took advantage and took pics (see pic). I've been here loads of times before, its good fun for the kids, they have a bowling alley, pool tables, arcade games and a restaurant (see pics). After Pritvi's we went to drop Bhabi and the girls at her mums, it was late so we didn't stop long. In case you were wondering I had left the girls their presents in England before I left, thinking they would open them over there on the big day. All in all it was ok, this time next year the girls won't even remember where they were this year, so it's all good!
