The absence of rocks outside our balcony tells us the tide is in and it's time to move on . . . well, tomorrow morning anyway. We took a drive down to Victoria today, the capital of BC - a very busy place. We've decided we prefer nature to cities - at least on this trip. The highlight of our day was a visit to Butchart Gardens. Julie, you were right - wonderful! The day couldn't have been better - sunny with temperatures in the mid-70's. We took lots of pictures, of course. Tonight we're planning the next leg in our journey. We'll return to Vancouver tomorrow by ferry and drop off our GyPSy tour guide (aka GPS). We will certainly miss having our "local" in the car with us since Banff advising us of details of the areas we're driving through and points not to miss. We plan on driving to near Seattle and finding a hotel for the night. Our next points of interest include areas on the Oregon coast as we wind our way down to southern California.
No "blips" in technology for today that we're aware of. We think we've removed Africa from the map of our itinerary. (How many of you noticed that the map had us traveling to the waters off the coast of southwestern Africa - by ferry maybe??) We changed Vancouver, BC to "British Columbia" and that appears to have fixed the problem - hopefully. (The Travelpod site automatically plots our map according to the cities we enter.) Also, we will add the picture of our "dead" Canon camera that we referred to in our last update. Off to bed to rejuvenate!
Love to all, Rick and Linda
