Having not planned to cross the middle east every day is a complete surprise. We were given a set of maps by a Welsh couple travelling south which they had marked some comments.  This has been a god send as we really have no idea where to stay or what to see.  For starters the county is extremely mountainous, who would have thought.

Christmas day with a difference. We drove to the sight of Petra, check the photo's, it is where some of the Indiana Jones movies were taken.. Strange place, with fantastic carvings and cave facades. We also discovered where all the tourists have come, the place was full of French, Italians & Spaniards.

After a very tiring hike we went to find a place to stay so we went to a place called Seven Wonders Camp to investigate the showers.. The owner advised the price was $35 Dinar each.. after we worked that was about 70 AUD (we smell bad but not that bad) we decided to head out into the hills to find a bush camp and have a bucket shower, thank god for the heat exchanger fitted to the Shorty. A nice place was found amongst the Bedouin neighbours along with some wood that made a great fire and a cold night under the stars.

Christmas dinner was pasta with fresh vegies. Lisa finished hers off with small Christmas pudding she has been carrying since Nairobi  topped with Zahabadi which we are not really sure what it is but tastes a little like a cross between yoghurt and cream.  She loved the treat and said it went well with the Jordanian custard equivalent so all was good.
