Not much to report today. Kudzu and I walked on the beach for a while and then laid in the sun which we then followed with another walk on the beach and some more sun bathing and so forth and so on. Just a typical day in the life of a middle-aged, homeless, unemployed CPA and his small spotted dog.
It turns out that Galveston Island is really nice. The park architecture is an unusual 70s modern, but the beach is wide and clean and the water is clear. The beach rental homes surrounding the park are attractive, well kept, and lack that stiff planned community look of most Gulf Coast towns. Downtown Galveston has a lot of attractive old homes and there are a lot of coffee houses and restaurants. Everything is very clean and orderly. Unfortunately, I'm sure it's very crowded in the Summer months. The only drawback to being here so far is that I've had that old Glen Campbell song playing over and over in my head for the last twenty-four hours which wouldn't be so bad if I actually knew the words.
