I stayed up in the loft last night. Had a very nice relaxing sleep. I went downstairs we finally finished the movie. I have never seen the ending to that one before.... So we were thinking about heading up the Wisconsin Dells for the day, however since all the flooding has been happening in the Midwest, we decided against it.
Instead, we went down and hit up downtown Madison. The general area is clean and pedestrian friendly. Supposedly back in the 90's Madison was listed as the top city to live in by Money magazine.  We scoured plenty of fun little shops on state street. Thank you Keith for being so patient with the shopping!! Hit up a a cheese store and picked up some aged cheddar for later. They also had this chocolate fudge cheese. It is exactly that. It does not taste like cheese though. No, I did not get a cheese head..... It really was not my style. However, I did find a cheese coozy! Who would not want a cheese coozy?
We went down by the University of Wisconsin Union. Beautiful campus with various different architecture styles. The Union itself was right down on the river. A large seating area with a large crowd of people enjoying the nice weather. This area overlooks Lake Mendota, which is one of the lakes that flank the city. Madison is essentially an island between lakes Mendota and Monona.
We went back to the apartment and chilled by the pool for a bit. The whole purpose being to enjoy being outdoors and to try to get Keith a tan. This was marginally accomplished, unfortunately, the Wisconsin sun does not have as intense effects as we feel in Hawaii.

So what else do you do on a Sunday evening........ aaaaaaaahh yes Essen Haus. Authentic German restaurant in the old settlement neighborhood. The staff  are even dressed in dirndles and lederhosen Keith, his roommate Joel and I went out to the Essen Haus to enjoy the sunset by drinking the boot. So you enter the bar and order the boot. Place deposit for said boot just incase you decide you want to take it home or accidentally drop it. Fill said boot with bier. Enjoy the boot with friends. Rather simple actually. If anyone has seen Beerfest.. you know what I am talking about. You cannot get splashed by the boot. You cannot set the boot down on the table. If you are the lucky one to finish the boot the poor soul who just handed it off to you, has to buy the next one.

We stopped at several more places after that. One of our last stops for the night was Brocachs Irish Pub. Not overcrowded a nice place to go and hang out and end the night.
Another great night in Wisconsin!!!!
