Had a bit of breakfast to start the day. A nice little buffet that the hotel provided. Up to this point, the Ramada has been the nicest hotel I have stayed at. The destination for the day is St. Louis Missouri. Its about a 4.5 hour drive from Topeka. I decided that I wasn't much for another 7 hour drive today. On the road all day with barely anytime to rest at night, makes me rather grumpy. Since yesterday its been getting to be a rather lonely trip. I mean I have naught else to talk to besides my gps. She is rather dull and is not very talkative.
I drive through Kansas city, hitting a bit of traffic, I got a abbreviated look at the downtown as well as the Sprint Center. As soon as you hit the inner city aspect of I-70 bam! You are in Missouri already. Unfortunately, 70 turns into a toll road for a spell. Missouri has not provided for a very interesting commute. It is more populated with buisnesses than Kansas was. There was nothing special to see other than Waffle houses, Hooters, Perkins, etc. Another dull drive, full of drivers that are very um sub par. Nothing personal to those of you who know of people from this state... for the most part these drivers don't have a clue.

I arrived at my hotel, the Crown Plaza, about 6:30. What a step up from what I have been staying at. I entered the hotel greeted by a greek bust of Aphrodite. Chandeliers lit the reception area. I got to my room ooooh so nice. Marble counters in the bathroom Flat screen tv, and a very plush bed welcomed me.
I am definitely roughing it right now!!
I took some time to check in with the 'rents. Gave a quick call to Auntie, and headed down to Kilkenny's Pub for some dinner. Met a nice bartender named Dan, him and a few others working there were also teachers. I thought it rather interesting I would never think of any of my elementary school teachers as bartenders. I had a salad and a bit of Smithwicks.
I went back to the hotel for some rest and relaxation. That bed was so comfortable. Had a down pillowtop mattress, it was almost like my temperpedic I left in Hawaii...... ahhhhh....
