After an epic 36 hour train journey from Florence, we were elated to arrive (at midnight) in Sitges, Spain, a beach town 45 minutes south of Barcelona. The journey brought back college backpacking memories for both of us, both good and bad. We found ourselves in train cars full of 19 and 20 year old American students with various commands of Italian/French/Spanish and remembered fondly our backpacking experiences at that age. We also remembered some of the unplesantries time had washed away (crowded train cars with no air conditioning, attempting to ask directions from a train conductor in an unspoken (or forgotten) language, European hygene habits).
