We packed up camp and hit the water at 7:00 and arrived at Churchill Dam at 8:30.  We saw two moose and a deer grazing together just before the dam and Darren got an up-close look.  After a pancake breakfast, the ranger portaged our gear to the lower end of Chase Rapids.  We started negotiating the rapids at 11:00.  The water level along the rapids was great and everyone made it through without getting wet.

It was a great paddle to Jalbert Campsite on Long Lake although it was wet from the moderate to heavy rain that fell at times during the afternoon.  We arrived at the campsite at 3:45.  Dinner tonight included beef stew with corn bread cooked in the reflector oven.

We observed a moose and calf swim across the lake in front of our campsite.  Reggie had some luck catching some trout from shore and Charlie caught a fresh water clam on a fishing lure - something you don't see everyday (or ever).  More card games tonight then off to bed.
