(Tom) I was surprised when I woke up at 8:47. Darren was still asleep and Mom was doing yesterday's blog.  Dad had woken up two hours earlier to get the RV’s oil changed some place in Vegas.  Once everyone was up (with Dad gone), we, without Dad, went out to try to find some breakfast.  We crossed the street to a Denny’s which I’d guess had a 30-40 minute wait.  We looked at breakfast menus for restaurants until we walked right into MGM Grand.  We found a little deli-type place around the corner from the Rainforest Café.  They had breakfast and lunch on the menu.  This was a "restaurant" kind of like McDonald’s when you order and get your food in two different places on a counter.  We ordered a lot of breakfast because it was already 9:55! Talk about a late breakfast!  I had a donut, a bagel, a bite of something Darren got that he didn’t love, and an apple juice.  After breakfast, we snuck over to the Lion Habitat so we could see the lions come out.  The lions were so graceful.  I thought they would come out and start chewing on their bones or maybe play with the red ball they had.  No way, these lions came out slowly, jumped over some rocks and lied down on a platform in the middle of the habitat.  We left once we knew they weren’t going to do much.  We went back into New York-New York to the arcade.  This was the biggest arcade I had ever seen in my whole life! It went on walking into six or seven rooms just filled with arcade stuff!  There was a whole room full of crane games!  Mom went down to gamble a little while we played in the arcade.  Darren was really lucky because, in the game where you pull a lever to spin a giant wheel which is full of prizes, he landed on the little strip that said “250 Tickets”!  He got two-fifty on that while I got a combined 48 tickets on two rounds of Deal or No Deal! HA HA!  We combined our tickets to get a Patriots banner and a 13 in 1 game set.  Mom or Dad didn’t win anything gambling in Vegas while Darren and I walked away with a Patriots flag, a 13 in 1 game thing, 66 extra tickets, and 4 spiky bouncy balls.  At 3:00, we all went to a comedy magic show.  Mom and I thought it was hilarious and the guy knew some magic!  Dad and Darren, on the other hand, tried coming up with an idea for everything that the magician did, but couldn’t!  Later in the afternoon, all of us went on the New York-New York roller coaster.  When we got in, it took us out of the building and up the ramp about as high as where our room was!  We were on the 15th floor!!  Roller coaster summary: we went down and back up, took a turn, went close to straight down and then back up.  After that, we went down and it led us into a loop-de-loop.  After we turned we went up and down and up and down and up and down until it slowed us down so we’d think it was the end.  It wasn’t!  It took us down and it turned us like we were in a funnel until I could nearly touch the ground.  It brought us back up, and it turned us upside down in a half-corkscrew and flipped us back upright again in a half-loop.  After we went up and down a few more times, it was done.  Darren, Dad, and I thought it was a great coaster.  Mom said she wanted off at the half-corkscrew!  Well, we all have different opinions for everything, don’t we!  The rest of the night went well and I think I’m cutting into something that you have to do because this is too long!  Oh well, you chose to read it!!!  I hope everything is good back home!

Aunt Cathy wants to know if Aunt Jana was checking on Tom every five minutes after 6:09 a.m. (Tom's previous record for sleeping in) to make sure he was still breathing!

Tom, be ready to fly to New York City to pick up your Pulitzer Prize for travel blog reporting. The roller coaster description? It was like I was there!
