(Entry actually 6/2/2010)
We began planning our trip last fall.  Rent an RV?, buy an RV?, what about a trailer?, car and hotel?.  This winter we finally decided to purchase a used RV with the intent of selling it upon our return.  We found the perfect RV in Massachusetts that fit our needs .  We picked up the 33' Four Winds Windsport on April 24.  We made a few modifications and repairs to get the rig ready for the 8,500 mile summer journey.  After a test run over Memorial Day Weekend, we think that we are ready!

Our itinerary is set with campground reservations and overnight parking lot stays planned for the first half of the trip.  We will be winging it during our return leg.  We recognize that modifications are inevitable due to weather, fatigue, breakdowns, etc.  Destinations during our journey include:

Amish Country, Wash. DC, St. Louis Arch, Four Corners USA, Grand Canyon National Park, Zion National Park, Hoover Dam, Las Vegas (two nights at New York New York Casino), Death Valley National Park, Sequoia National Park, Kings Canyon National Park, Yosemite National Park, Grand Teton National Park, Yellowstone National Park, Field of Dreams Movie Site, quick visit with Jana's college roommate in Wisconsin, Boston Red Sox vs. Blue Jays in Toronto, Niagara Falls, Cooperstown (MLB Hall of Fame), and many interesting things in between.

It should be a blast.  Chase (our Shitzu dog) will be staying with the grandparents.  He does not tolerate other dogs and will be much happier staying in Maine.

We will continue our planning and packing and post updates as our July 17 Bon Voyage approaches.  45 more days!
