Meaning: there is no asking "Why?" in China. This is something I have learned to accept.
Ahh..my little china life has taken on its own rhythm.
It all started when I found yoga.
I now have a place where I can stretch, be quiet, not talk (cause of course its all in chinese and I just follow along) and tune back in. Its lovely! One of the students at my college is the teacher and he is wonderful, serene and has such a relaxing voice.....
Fong song (relax...)
Fong ching song (relax more lightly)
Ma ma shee shee....ma ma who shee (slowly inhale...slowly exhale)
The other surprise yoga brought me was......Michaela! As soon a this lovely Italian spirit walked into the room, I knew we would be fast friends. In fact, with in the first 10 minutes of talking to each other we shared some pretty intimate secrets...i knew it was yogic fate that brought us together.
I call her my China Sister.
Through her I have met many wonderful friends (some have now left...I am seeing a pattern here in China, people are transient. Coming in going in waves. The best thing to do is waste no time getting to know someone, just enjoy every minute you have with them, because they will leave soon and new people will join...the ebb and flow of life)
Actually, as I write this, Michaela has also left to move back to Italy. However, in her wake I am a stronger, braver, happier, more relaxed person! Together we spent many days getting foot massages, back massages, getting our hair washed and styled, makeup done and of course lots of shopping. It has been delightful.
I feel I really know Zhenjiang a lot more now. And certainly eating a lot more: Japanese, street BBQ and Sichauan- la la la (hot hot hot!).
There is this moment that comes during traveling when you feel that this is truly your life; you are not merely a visitor but in fact part of the inner workings. Your home country feels very far away and your old life seems to be a vague memory. There is a quiet acceptance.
I feel I have arrived.....
Disclaimer: travel pod is weird sometimes and wont fix spelling mistakes.....
