It was a big day!  Tif and I ventured out alone.  We took the bus, alone, went back to the huge super market, alone and shopped for fruit, alone!  As you can tell...we had a GREAT time!  I love traveling with her.  She is brave like me.
Our shining moment (besides taking shots of chinese liquor while shopping) was to seek out a new restaurant. We were sitting down studying up on how to say "noodles" and "dumplings" and "vegetables" and "no fish" when I spotted a bustling spot that was dimly lit by red lanterns.  I thought, alright girl...let's put on our BRAVE and get in there.  It looked so cool!  I saw little intimate bamboo tables with built in hot plates and bubbling cauldrons of soup that were steaming up the windows.  We just walked right in there with smiles and positive energy.  It worked out in our favor.  We just pointed, laughed and agreed to whatever the gaggle of waitresses said we should eat.  And then to top it off, I ordered us Pee-jo (phonetic for beer).  I love drinking beer in foreign countries!
The food was great!  Hot salty soup (MSG!) with noodles and....um.... dumplings.  Or so we thought.  It wasn't until I found fish bones in my mouth that we realized...."umm....I don't think these are dumplings" (classic quote).  Oh well....
The point is that we feel accomplished, brave and happy about our day!
