Before we get to the Drury Hotel where "The Extras Aren't Extra!", I'd like to say a few words about Planet Sub.  Planet Sub is the deli we stopped at right outside Kansas City and it was awesome.  Hannah had the 6" Green Turkey sandwich and it was DELICIOUS!  Eric had the 12" Super Hero and it too, was DELICIOUS!  That's about all we have to say about Planet Sub, but if you ever get to eat there, we guarantee it will be DELICIOUS! Now about Drury Hotel.  Drury Hotel states that it has the "Highest Guest Satisfaction Among Mid-Scale Hotel Chains with Limited Service, Three Years in a Row".  Take that, Ritz-Carlton!  You've just been served in the greater St. Louis metro area.

But I have to say that the people here are very very friendly, the room is comfortable and only faintly reminiscent of cigarette smoke and plus you get free breakfast, free happy hour drinks, free internet and free long distance for 60 minutes per room per night.  It's true, the extras really aren't extra here and that makes me feel good about St. Louis.

The 3 most exciting things that happened on our way to St. Louis (besides Planet Sub). #1: we saw a B2 Stealth Bomber flying in the sky over Kansas and it looked like a UFO.

#2: we almost didn't fit into the parking garage at the hotel.  The top of the garage entrance was 6' 8" tall and our car, including the cargo box on top of the roof, was 6' 8" tall.  It was all very exciting, and the car is still wedged in the parking garage entrance.  Hopefully no one needs to get into the hotel tonight.  Just kidding, we made it just fine into the garage.

And finally #3: we took Rosie to the park next door to the hotel and she went to the bathroom (numbers 1 and 2!) almost immediately!  Compare that with the 30 minutes it took her to just go poop at 7am in the morning in 30 degree weather in Santa Fe with 3 inches of snow on the ground and Eric only wearing a thin jacket and you can imagine how happy we were.  To top it all off, we got some great shots of The Arch.
