Having been reassured by Katie that Copacabana was roasting hot, I booked a bus asap out of Puno to cross the border for our reunion. I was a bit shocked when the bus stopped half way into the journey and we were ordered out onto a boat... I would say that's something to mention to customers when they buy a ticket, not that I understood the Spanish informing us of this, but luckily I had met a guy from Holland that interpreted for me. It was all a bit hectic at the border too, first you go to the yellow building, then the green, then don't forget to change your money, then walk to Bolivia and go to the blue building: getting a passport stamp has never been so stressful! After buying some well deserved BBQ pringles (first I've seen in South America by the way) we continued to Copacabana where I was dropped off not at the usual bus station, but on a random street.

Treked to the hostel Katie and Iagreed to meet at, to stutter in broken Spanish 'Mi amigo esta habitacion once?', this seemed to have worked and upon reaching the top of the stairs I saw the cute little blonde head poking out from room 11, just as promised! Wasting no time we dumped my stuff, headed out and bought a bottle of 2.50 rum to sit on the beach in the sunshine. Finishing bottle numero uno in the internet cafe we promptly bought a new one and found a perch on a side street, drinking straight rum because we're too cheap to buy mixer - afterall we were on a budget.

After an hour babers shows up. Babers was a stray dog that had obviously learnt to give peole it's paw for food and of course, being drunk and with Katie's existing soft spot for animals, (that's why i have pictures of random dogs and cows) the only option was to go hunting for something to feed her. In the end it took us a good 15 minutes and we spent more feeding her than we did on ourselves the whole day, only for Babs to fuck off once she'd got what she wanted.

Bottle number 2 finished we tried to find a bar we'd been told about. Copacabana is a tiny town, i can{t even stress how small it is... it took us an hour to find the bar and even then it was only by chance. We were just about to give up when we turned around and saw the rasta-type writing, and justthen we bumped into someone Katie had met in Colca canyon. The bar not being open yet as it was only 7pm we went back to Kirsty's hostel to drink some more...
